Ohio drivers are protected from unreasonable searches and seizures by the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, but police may search a car under certain circumstances, including with consent, the “plain view” rule, during an arrest, in an emergency, or if they have a reasonable belief that the driver poses a danger.
