Ohio economists say data centers have more costs than benefits under current laws
Scioto Analysis spoke with 14 economists from Ohio universities to ask their opinion on data centers’ economic benefits and drawbacks. The issue has been a major talking point in Ohio, now home to more than 200 data centers. Generally, economists agreed that data centers could be productive, but only if legislators update regulations to ensure Ohioans benefit instead of tech companies.
