Wabtec, Union Pacific reach $1.2 billion locomotive modernization deal
PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WKBN)- A $1.2 billion deal is in place to improve AC4400 locomotives around the country. Union Pacific and Wabtec have agreed to the largest locomotive modernization investment in rail industry history, according to a news release from Wabtec. The company said that upgrading its fleet will improve railroad operational efficiency and network performance.
