Work on the $100 million, two-mile pathway through Downtown was expected to begin in December. A spokesperson for Downtown Columbus Inc., which is leading the project in partnership with the city’s Department of Public Service, confirmed to NBC4 that initial construction instead began this month with work to fill underground vaults beneath East Gay Street.
