The American Society of Plastic Surgeons announced on Feb. 3 that it found “insufficient evidence” that the benefits of chest, genital and facial surgeries on minors with gender dysphoria outweigh the risks. The recommendation marks a change in the group’s stance and diverges from guidance issued by several other major medical organizations.
