Lawmakers seek to create penalties for AI models that encourage suicide

The Ohio House Technology and Innovation Committee heard testimony from supporters of House Bill 524, which would fine software companies up to $50,000 if their AI models are found to suggest or encourage self-harm, suicidal ideation or public violence.
