No. 2 Mount Union rolls to improve to 6-0

TIFFIN, Ohio (WKBN) – No. 2 Mount Union rolled to a 38-6 win over Heidelberg to improve to 6-0 on the season.

After leading 14-6 at halftime, the Purple Raiders piled on 24 unanswered points in the second half in the 32-point victory.

Sophomore running back Kayden Minner rushed for 104 yards and a career-high three total touchdowns, all coming in a third-quarter scoring outburst.

Through the air, freshman quarterback Mikey Malone racked up 223 passing yards and two scores. He connected with Grant Davis four times for 97 yards, and Jacob Cockrell recorded 85 yards on six catches.

Defensively, four different Purple Raiders (Kaleb Brown, Brandon Bowden, Jerry Cooper, Corey Gibson) registered a sack. They also forced two fumbles, and Kosta Thrasivoulou picked off two passes.

Mount Union (6-0) will bring a perfect record back home as they host Ohio Northern on Saturday, Oct. 25.
