Ryan Cameron has returned to his alma mater, Campbell High School, for a special honor this week.

On Thursday (Oct. 22), the veteran media personality became the first Black man inducted into Campbell High’s Hall of Fame, with his permanent marker unveiled during a special ceremony.

The 1983 graduate has also been named Grand Marshall of Campbell’s homecoming parade and will receive special recognition at their homecoming game.

With more than 30 years in the business, Cameron has contributed not only to radio but to the entire city of Atlanta. With Radio One Atlanta, he helped bring Hip-Hop to the mainstream with Hot 97.9 (now Hot 107.5) and cultivated the careers of prominent figures such as Ludacris. As the host of Ryan Cameron Uncensored on Majic 107.5/97.5, he led the show to dominance in the ratings, consistently ranking at or near the top of all demos.

Outside of radio, Cameron continues to set the standard in media excellence. From being the first PA announcer to call games for both the Falcons and Hawks simultaneously to being the voice of Georgia Tech athletics and Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, his impact on the community is far-reaching.

With all that he has accomplished, Cameron continues to give back. Through his Ryan Cameron Foundation, he has dedicated his time and efforts to guide the next generation to become impactful leaders in the city and beyond. Every year, he has organized programs focused on wellness, leadership development, volunteering, and other pillars of importance.

The honor from Campbell High School is just more proof that Ryan Cameron is not just the “Voice of Atlanta.” He’s also part of the city’s heartbeat.
